BC BAN?

Could we have a Pit Bull Ban in BC? If this lawyer get's his way who knows, but let's sure hope not. I can understand sueing the owners of these dogs, but certainly not the SPCA or the City of Surrey.

I would suggest that everyone flood this lawyer with letters, pictures, whatever you can informing him that not all Pit Bull owners are drug dealers and criminals .

It's time to shine the light on the real RESPONSIBLE Pit Bull owners.

I`d also suggest that they write to the Law Society of Upper Canada
(comail@lsuc.on.ca)

and ask that they muzzle this lawyer.
I`ve told them I want that quoted statement below retracted in the Press or substantiated with proof.
Make sure you give them his contact info.

Surrey, BC , V3R0N9

It`s outrageous what he`s saying in the Press.
He`s trying his case in the Media.

Heads up.
The Doggie Ambulance chaser has probably just picked up another client.
Dog attacked by alleged "pit bulls"
http://www.bclocalnews.com/surrey_area/surreyleader/news/20661239.html
and some VERY irresponsible reporting
http://news.aol.ca/article/Dog-Owner-Issues-Warning-After-Attack/264324/
Nothing like including some pictures of a Bear mauling to incite the masses.
A normal person would read this and see irresponsible owner with 3 dogs off leash and failure to control but that`s not quite as exciting as alleged "pit bulls" and Bear mauling.
My condolences to the owner of the small dog and the Authorities should throw the book at the owner of these dogs regardless of what they are or are not IF he is guilty of allowing his dogs to do this.

One of the sad consequences of irresponsible reporting and irresponsible owners.
http://www.bclocalnews.com/surrey_area/peacearchnews/news/22739369.html

It should have been a story about an irresponsible owner of 3 dogs.
The Media made it a story about "Pit Bulls" and no one even knows whether they are in fact "Pit Bulls".
Many innocent adoptable dogs will probably die because of this owner and his dogs and the reporters that wrote this up as a "Pit Bull" story rather than what it was.
How sad.
Will this ever stop?
A Golden Retriever mix and a Lab mix just killed a lady last week in the US.
I wonder if that will affect their adoption rates.
Someone on a forum suggested that the fatality made no sense unless the mix was Pit????
Feel like I`m living in the twilight zone.

I don`t live in BC so I`m not going to respond to this letter but someone in BC might like to.

I don`t know why the Media allows unfounded statements like these but they do.

[quote...]they are more likely to increase interest from the typical owner, scary people with dangerous dogs, and the first choice for drug grow-ops.

And now we have her concerned for a dangerous scourge in our community that actually does pose a hazard to her children.

These animals are completely unpredictable and should not be allowed on our streets under any circumstances.
I`d rather live next door to a 100 "Pit Bulls" any day than this lady.

Hopefully there will be a response to her nonsense by a BC resident.

The only scourge in this community are the people that pre-judge these dogs and their owners.
